Happy Medium Books Cafe

This past weekend was a delightful escape into the magical world of friendship, laughter, and love. Gathering with my incredible group of girlfriends, who have been a vibrant part of my life for over 18 years since I moved to Florida, filled my heart with joy! We make it a point to have at least one girls-only weekend each year, an unspoken tradition that brings us closer and reminds us of what truly matters.

This year, we started planning back in December, full of excitement and anticipation. However, life threw a curveball, and one of our amazing friends couldn't make it due to a medical emergency. But even with the hiccup, the weekend turned out to be an incredible experience with a fun friend from New York surprise cameo, that filled our hearts and boosted our mental health. Seriously, if you have a crew like mine, I highly encourage you to make this a tradition!

We rented a cozy place, lounged by the pool, and spent our days sipping drinks, tossing compliments, and showering each other with praise. It was a communion of souls, each of us taking turns to listen and be heard. The atmosphere was so uplifting that we were all buzzing with gratitude by the time we parted ways. After the weekend, our phones lit up with loving texts, each message a reminder of how lucky we are to have each other in our lives.

These phenomenal women have been my biggest cheerleaders in pursuing my dreams, especially as I work toward starting this blog and my future bookstore. So, here’s to my fabulous friends—you know who you are! You NEED friends like this in your life! And if you don’t have a crew yet, go out there and find yours! Or hit me up, and I’ll gladly be that supportive friend you need! Life is too short not to embrace the magic of friendship! 🌟💖

All that to say, the magic of reading can sometimes bring us together as friends, and this weekend was nothing short of a bookish dream! I mean, really, who needs a travel journal when you can just trade recommendations with your pals? But let’s dive into my recent find—oh boy, do I have a cute little gem to share!

“The Happy Medium Books Cafe” in Jacksonville, FL is as delightful as it sounds! As soon as I stepped in, I was greeted by the friendliest staff, the intoxicating scent of freshly baked goods wafting through the air, and an irresistible children’s nook that made me want to snuggle up with a picture book (don’t judge!). This isn’t your run-of-the-mill bookstore; they embrace the bookish buffet with a smorgasbord of genres that caters to everyone in the family.

Naturally, I sped over to the Fantasy section like a kid in a candy store and scored a shiny new book trophy: Reckless by Lauren Roberts. Keep your eyes peeled for my review of The Powerless Trilogy. And speaking of treasures, I stumbled across a local gem, One Good Eye; Hettie Stormheart, Book One by Jen Bair, which was hard to resist. A handwritten sign boasted of its humorous adult banter, and with a name like Cursed Dragon Ship as the publisher, I was sold! Plus, that world map right at the front? Pure perfection!

Now, let’s get to the icing on the cake— something I’ve been wanting to try for a while, A mystery date with a book! All beautifully wrapped up and nestled in a cozy basket at the counter were several enticing choices. I nabbed one that was titled Rainy day with a book and talked of love letters, villains and an ice princess. I can’t wait to see what it is!! Trust me, I’ll be sharing all the juicy details of that adventure in a future post!

So, if you find yourself in Jacksonville, FL—whether on a girls' trip, a solo mission, or just passing by—make it a point to visit “The Happy Medium Books Cafe.” This spot is a treasure trove that promises an enchanting experience and is definitely worth your time. Happy reading! 📚✨
